BFR lab is an architecture and design office founded in Cologne (GER) and Langenthal (CH) in 2006.
The practice is working at the boundaries of architecture, design and advanced technologies covering a wide range of projects from large-scale office and residential projects to interior and furniture design. BFR lab favors an experimental approach towards architecture using new technologies and new materials. This approach is substantialized by a simultaneous engagement in research and teaching.
BFR LAB is currently working on a residential project with 22 units in Switzerland, different interior design projects and a villa in Cologne, Germany as well as international design competitions and exhibitions that explode a variety of new digital design methods.
In 2010 BFR lab was invited to participate in the OpenSimSim project at the Biennale in Venice Italy and the Designers Saturday in Langenthal, Switzerland.
BFR lab has won prizes in International competitions including the first prize for a 850000 sqf residential project in Ajman and an infrastructural bridge in Switzerland. In 2009 BFR lab was awarded with the prestigious award for young artists of North Rhine Westphalia Germany.
All partners are registered architects in Germany/ Switzerland.
